Watching together with a Lumixi household
One Lumixi Premium subscription covers two Monitor phones. Here is how to invite the other parent, take turns watching, and handle the special cases: a phone that changes role, or a Google account linked afterwards.
What to know
Two Monitor seats
The household holds two Monitor phones: the one that carries the subscription and the other parent’s. Cameras take no seat.
Only one phone invites
Only the phone that carries the subscription can invite, with an 8-digit code valid for 15 minutes.
One video at a time
Both Monitors see the same camera and get its alerts. The video itself plays on one phone at a time.

Invite the other parent in three steps

On the subscribed phone
In “My cameras”, tap ⚙, then “Invite or join”. On the “Account and household” screen, tap “Invite the other parent”: an 8-digit code appears.

On the other parent’s phone
Install Lumixi, choose “Monitor”, then “I have a household code”. Enter the code and tap “Join”.

Allow notifications
Lumixi asks right after: without them, this phone would get no alerts. The household’s cameras then appear in “My cameras”.
Taking turns watching
In “My cameras”, each camera shows which phone has the video (“Video on: …”). Tap it, then “Watch here”: the video moves to your phone. The other phone stops it but keeps the sound, motion and connection alerts.
Special cases
Google account, role change, freeing a seat
You link your Google account after joining the household
If that Google account had already been used with Lumixi (an earlier install, another phone), the phone switches back to that earlier account. The household seat then stays with the phone’s previous identity, and the next invitation says “All 2 seats are taken”.

On the subscribed phone: ⚙ → “Invite or join”, then “Remove” next to the old phone.

Tap “Invite the other parent” and enter the new code on the other phone.
To avoid it: if this phone already had a Lumixi account linked to Google, first tap “Already a customer? Find my account” on the Lumixi Premium screen, then join the household.
Turn the other parent’s Monitor into a Camera

On that phone: ⚙ → “Invite or join” → “Leave this household”. The seat is freed.

Close and reopen Lumixi: the welcome screen appears. Tap “Get started”, then “Camera: it films my baby”. A code appears.

On the Monitor: “My cameras” → “Add a camera”, then scan the code.
Turn a Camera into a Monitor

On the Monitor watching it: “My cameras” → “Camera settings” → “Remove the camera”.

On the former Camera, the code screen appears (otherwise tap “Stop the camera”). Tap “Back to choosing the phone”, then “Monitor: it stays with me”.

To join the household, follow the “Invite the other parent” steps above. While it is a Camera, a phone cannot join the household.
Remove a phone from the household
On the subscribed phone: ⚙ → “Invite or join” → “Remove”. The removed phone loses Lumixi Premium immediately and any monitoring in progress stops; it can come back with a new invitation code. The other parent can also leave on their own with “Leave this household”.
Household FAQ
Does the other parent need a second subscription?
No. The household has two Monitor seats: the other parent uses the subscription of the phone that invited them, without buying another one.
Can both parents watch the video at the same time?
No, the video plays on one phone at a time. Both phones get the alerts, and “Watch here” moves the video from one phone to the other.
The invitation code does not work: what should I do?
The code is valid for 15 minutes and works once: create a new one on the subscribed phone. A phone still in the Camera role cannot join the household: switch it back to Monitor first.
“All 2 seats are taken”: what should I do?
On the subscribed phone, remove the old phone from the household, then invite again. This most often happens after linking a Google account that had already been used with Lumixi.
