Android baby monitor guide
Android baby monitor apps compared
Two phones are enough for a baby monitor: one films the nursery, the other stays with you. Here are seven apps that do it, with their prices, their ads and the networks they accept.
Who wrote this comparison
We make Lumixi, one of the apps compared. This comparison is therefore not neutral. To keep it useful, every fact about another app comes from what its developer states on its own Google Play listing, read on 1 October 2026 from Belgium. Prices change: check the listing before you buy.
In short
With an iPhone
Bibino, Annie, Cloud Baby Monitor, Baby Monitor 3G and Alfred are also on iPhone. Lumixi and Dormi are Android only.
Without a subscription
Cloud Baby Monitor (€6.99) and Baby Monitor 3G (€7.99) are one-time purchases on Google Play. Dormi gives 4 free hours a month.
Two parents on Android
Lumixi: one subscription of €1.99 a month in Belgium and France for two Monitor phones, without ads, after a 7-day trial.
The comparison table
| App | Platforms | Price (Google Play, Belgium) | Ads | Network |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lumixi | Android | Camera free. Monitor: 7-day trial, then €1.99 a month for two parents | No | Wi-Fi or 4G/5G, internet required |
| Dormi | Android | 4 free hours a month, then subscription or purchase | No | Wi-Fi, 3G/4G/5G, or no internet (Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot) |
| Bibino | Android, iPhone, computer | Free with limited features, paid Premium | Yes | Wi-Fi and mobile data |
| Annie | Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, Linux | 3-day trial, then subscription | No | Wi-Fi, 3G/4G/5G |
| Cloud Baby Monitor | Android, iPhone, iPad, Mac | €6.99 once (€7.99 on the App Store) | No | Wi-Fi, 3G, LTE |
| Baby Monitor 3G | Android, iPhone, Mac | €7.99 once, bought separately on each platform | No | Wi-Fi and mobile network |
| Alfred | Android, iPhone | Free with ads, paid Premium | Yes | Wi-Fi, 3G, LTE |
“Ads” follows Google Play’s “Contains ads” label. Alfred is a home security camera app often used as a baby monitor; the six others are built to watch over a child. Prices are the Belgian ones in euros: Google Play shows your local price.
Talking to baby, recording, going without internet
Talking to baby from afar: Dormi, Annie, Cloud Baby Monitor and Alfred list it on their listing. Lumixi does not offer it.
Recordings: Bibino records the sounds, videos or photos of each session, Annie offers recordings, Alfred stores videos in the cloud with Premium, and Baby Monitor 3G lets you replay sounds. Dormi records nothing in the cloud. Lumixi stores neither video nor sound, anywhere.
Without internet: Dormi can link the two phones over Wi-Fi Direct or a hotspot. The others, Lumixi included, need an internet connection on both phones.
Lullabies and night light: Cloud Baby Monitor plays lullabies and white noise. Lumixi and Cloud Baby Monitor turn on a night light on the nursery phone from the parent’s phone.
What Lumixi does, and what it does not
Built for two parents
Two Monitor phones share one subscription. Both get the alerts, “Watch here” moves the video from one phone to the other, and each parent can mute alerts on their own phone only.
Alerts that do not cry wolf
Adjustable sound and motion alerts, a single alert when both happen together, and a two-step warning if the camera loses its connection.
Its limits
Android only, no way to talk to baby, no recording, and internet required on both phones. Night mode is not infrared vision.
How this information was gathered
On 1 October 2026, we read each app’s Google Play listing from Belgium: displayed price, “Contains ads” label and the developer’s description. iPhone availability and App Store prices come from the Belgian App Store, the same day. We did not test the other apps. If something has changed, write to support@lumixi.app and we will fix the page.
